Frequently asked questions

Before you get started

Answers about capture, automation, marketplaces, plans, and account access.

How do I create an account? +

Download ListDeck Capture and tap Create Account. New shops get a seven-day trial, then subscribe in the app. If you already have a shop, sign in on this website.

What is included in the free trial? +

New accounts receive seven days and can submit up to 200 books during the trial. Book submission stops when either limit is reached, but your existing inventory remains available.

What are the paid plans? +

Starter is $29 per month for up to 100 new books per month, Growth is $79 for up to 500, and Pro is $149 for up to 2,000.

How do I upgrade? +

Open ListDeck Capture and tap Plans. Starter, Growth, and Pro are billed through your Apple ID. You can also use Request upgrade on the website.

What does the iOS capture workflow do? +

ListDeck Capture guides you through photographing the cover, title page, and copyright page. It runs OCR on-device and prepares the images, recognized text, format, and weight for cataloging.

What happens after a book is uploaded? +

ListDeck assigns a SKU, extracts bibliographic metadata, and queues an AI rarity and price assessment. If Amazon is verified and the book has an ISBN, Amazon analysis is also queued.

Does ListDeck perform OCR in the cloud? +

The companion iOS workflow uses Apple Vision on the device for title-page and copyright-page OCR. The recognized text is then sent with the book record.

Does AI set my selling price? +

No. AI pricing is advisory only. Your chosen price is not automatically replaced by an Amazon competitor price or an AI suggestion.

Can I run the AI assessment again? +

Yes. Open the book and use Assess whenever you want to refresh its rarity and suggested-price analysis.

Are marketplace listings created automatically? +

No. Cataloging a book never automatically publishes it to Amazon, eBay, AbeBooks, or Facebook. Listing creation, updates, relists, and removals require an explicit action.

What runs automatically for Amazon? +

When verified Amazon credentials and an ISBN are present, ListDeck can automatically analyze the catalog match, eligibility, restrictions, prices, offer counts, and sales rank. Publishing remains manual.

What Amazon credentials are required? +

Amazon requires Seller ID, Marketplace ID, SP-API Client ID, Client Secret, and Refresh Token. ListDeck verifies them before enabling Amazon actions.

Can ListDeck create a new Amazon product page? +

No. Amazon listing submission is offer-only and must match an existing ASIN in Amazon’s catalog.

Can I link an existing Amazon listing? +

Yes. On the book edit page, enter the Amazon seller SKU. Linking finds the existing offer and may update the local SKU to match; it does not create a new listing.

What is required to list on eBay? +

Connect verified eBay developer credentials and authorize the seller account. A book also needs a SKU, price above zero, weight, title, and at least one image.

Can I test eBay without publishing live listings? +

Yes. eBay settings support both sandbox and production environments.

What happens when I mark an eBay book sold? +

ListDeck withdraws the eBay offer, marks the book sold, and sets its marketplace quantities to zero so the local record reflects that the copy is unavailable.

Can I link an existing eBay listing? +

Yes. Enter the eBay item number or listing URL on the book edit page. ListDeck links the remote listing without creating a new one.

What do I need for AbeBooks? +

Use your AbeBooks seller User ID and API Key, not your normal account password. Credentials are verified before AbeBooks listing actions are enabled.

How does Facebook Marketplace support work? +

ListDeck does not publish through a Facebook API. It exports filtered books to Facebook-compatible CSV or Excel files and provides a helper for copying listing fields and saving photos.

Can I export only part of my inventory? +

Yes. Search or apply an inventory filter first, then download CSV or Excel. Facebook accepts 50 listings per file, so larger filters download as multiple files. The export includes every matching book, not only the current page.

What can I search and filter? +

Search titles, SKUs, and box numbers. Filters cover review status, confirmed books, missing or set prices, Amazon listability, and books not yet listed on eBay or AbeBooks.

Can I skip marketplace setup? +

Yes. Amazon, eBay, and AbeBooks can each be skipped during onboarding. You can connect any skipped marketplace later from Marketplace settings.

Why is a marketplace action unavailable? +

The marketplace account must be active, complete, and verified. eBay also requires seller authorization. ListDeck shows a setup link before making any external API request.

Are saved API secrets displayed again? +

No. Secret fields are not shown after saving. Leave a secret field blank when editing settings to keep the saved value.

Can I delete or archive a book? +

You can permanently delete a book only when it has never communicated with Amazon, eBay, or AbeBooks. Once marketplace history exists, ListDeck preserves that history and offers Archive instead. Archived books are hidden from active inventory and can be restored later.

How do I delete my account? +

In ListDeck Capture, open Account, then Delete Shop (or Leave Shop if you are not the owner). You can also use Account on this website. You are signed out immediately, we remove the data within 24 hours, and we email you to confirm.

Are Shopify or Etsy supported? +

Not currently. The active marketplace workflows are Amazon, eBay, AbeBooks, and Facebook export tools.
